Reaching out: Kanimozhi, MP, interacting with participants in Thanjavur on Sunday. Thanjavur: Women should be aware of the social security schemes available to them to overcome the problems faced by them said Kanimozhi, Member of Parliament, here on Sunday. Speaking at a sensitisation programme for women rehabilitation here, Ms. Kanimozhi said that Government has introduced many schemes and brought out various legislations to ensure women development. Women should be aware of all those things. For example women should know that they have property rights. Literacy, awareness and employment will empower women. Instead of craving for government and other jobs after studying, women should try to become entrepreneurs and start their own industries. More powersLater speaking to presspersons, Ms. Kanimozhi said that women commission should be given more powers. She said that political reservation for women provided them the opportunity to take decisions and imbibe leadership qualities.
