Randhawa slips to tied eighth

Sotogrande (Spain): After two days of robust golf, Jyoti Randhawa looked little ragged as he carded three-over 74 to slide to tied eighth from third overnight, while an identical round pushed defending champion Jeev Milkha Singh to tied 29th after the penultimate round of the Volvo Masters here. Randhawa’s three-day total of four-over 217 saw him sharing the eighth place with Graeme McDowell, who carded an identical 74.

Englishman Justin Rose dropped overcame the jittery start to post an even-par 71 to maintain his four-stroke lead over Padraig Harrington (71) and Simon Dyson (69).

Atwal moves up

At Lakeside (USA), Arjun Atwal put behind his disastrous second round memories to card four-under 67 and lift himself from the pit to tied 50th after the penultimate round in the Nationwide Tour championship.

At the top of the table, Richard Johnson carded 67 to total 197 that gave him a one-stroke lead over Tom Scherrer (67). — PTI
