HYDERABAD: The Judo Federation of India officials named Garima Choudhary in the 63 kg category as the notable medal prospect but failed to name any other bright prospects for the inaugural Asian youth judo championship (under-16 years) and the eighth Asian junior championship (under-20 years) for boys and girls, starting at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium near here on Monday. According to Mukesh Kumar, general secretary of JFI, 21 countries had confirmed their participation. Predictably, judokas from defending champions Korea, Japan, Chinese Taipei and Phillipines are expected to dominate the three-day show. — Principal Correspondent
