SWEET SUCCESS: Ameya Walavalkar, who clinched a double in the National Karting Championship, has reasons to smile. Coimbatore: Ameya Walavalkar, representing Mohite’s Racing, clinched a double in the senior class in the second round of the MRF-MAI Indian National karting championship at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chettipalayam, near Coimbatore, on Sunday. The 26-year-old from Mumbai, who struck a bad patch in Kochi, hugged the twisty circuit tight to win both the races in a commanding fashion. “I could not ask for more, especially after a bad opener in Kochi. I am pleased that I have put my team on the points table,” said Walavalkar, after the race. The third round, which was scheduled at Nagpur, will now be held at Kohlapur from November 16 to 18.
