Maintenance of park needed

Roche Park on Beach Road is one of a few recreation spots in Tuticorin.

The park attracts a large number of people including children on Sundays and the park is a kilometer away from the town.

The road leading to the park remains dark without proper lighting facility.

A face-lift has been made to the park by Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank.

There is no proper maintenance. Will it be looked into?

N. Kasilingam,

Tuticorin.

Health hazard in Radhapuram

Radhapuram in Tirunelveli district is seized by heavy industries like Koodankulam Atomic Power Station, wind mills, unrecognised sundry cottage industries involved in fish drying, culling and crushing.

All these industries kicked off heavy traffic through main streets of Radhapuram causing noise and air pollution of serious proportion.

The putrid smell emanating from dead decaying fish from the sites of drying near Radhapuram and the fetid odour liberated from the spillover of essence on the main roads of Radhapuram while being transported by lorries are a health hazard.

N. Murugesan,

Radhapuram, Tirunelveli district.

Establish ATMs

Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari districts do not have any Citibank ATMs in their limits.

Graduates from these districts are working in cities like Hyderabad and Bangalore and most of their salary account transactions are being made with the Citibank only.

When they want to draw the money from their accounts in their hometown, they have to go to the ATMs of other banks such as Axis Bank.

In such instances, taking the statement itself is chargeable apart from cash withdrawal.

Therefore, I request the Citibank authorities to take immediate steps to open their ATMs in Tuticorin, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari.

P. Senthil Saravana Durai,

Vazhavallan, Tuticorin district.
