KADAPA: Lakshmidevamma, widow of slain sarpanch Jayarami Reddy was elected sarpanch of Malepadu in Yerraguntla mandal on Monday. The vacancy arose with the murder of Jayarami Reddy in May this year. Lakshmidevamma defeated her nearest rival Sakunthalamma by 58 votes in the polls held peacefully on Monday. -Staff Reporter
