New entrant: A radio jockey at work at the Hello 106.4 FM station in Coimbatore. –
COIMBATORE: Hello FM 106.4 went on air in Coimbatore on November 5. The fifth in the State, the station will cater to the local flavour.
“There will be something for everyone between 16 and 60 on Hello FM,” said S.Rajesh Kumar, Branch Head.
The station will capture the mood of the city and present it in informative and entertaining shows, he adds. Two more stations will be launched at Tiruchi and Puducherry in a month or two.
The programmes begin with “Aathi Choodi,” a spiritual show at 5 a.m., which includes the “Suprabhatham,” “Sillunu oru Kaalai” at 7 a.m., “Avasarakozhi 008” at 8 a.m., a sneak peek at the news of the day. “Kovai Express,” a daily round up of the happenings in the city at 9 a.m., “Pallankuzhi,” game show at 10 a.m., “Ival,” a show exclusively for women at 12 noon, “Anjali Apartments” at 2 p.m., and “Cummercut,” aimed at the youth, at 4 p.m. are some of the shows lined up to entertain the listeners.
The radio station will also conduct contact programmes at bus stands, tea stalls and coffee shops, apartments and hotels. Decking up their premises with streamers of Hello FM will win them a radio free of cost, which will play only Hello FM, says D.Charles, Associate Vice President - Brand. About 2,500 sets will be distributed through this contact programme in the city.
