VISAKHAPATNAM: Keralotsavam, a four-day Kerala festival organised by Kerala Kala Samithi at Kala Keralam function hall concluded on Sunday with a variety entertainment.
A 25-member professional troupe from Pattambi Naatarivu Padana Kendra from Kerala, led by Benny P. Vettath, Prahladan and Suresh presented cultural programmes which included folk songs with folk instruments and supported by visual creations and models with lighting effects.
The traditional art forms which existed mainly in north Kerala during the past were not preserved in the form of written scripts but survived only by word of mouth from one generation to the next, according to Samithi secretary George Thomas. A seminar on well-known Malayalam writers and literature was conducted with writers L.R. Swamy and Santhosh Alex as main speakers.
