Corrections and clarifications

In a report “Support to BJP unconditional, says Kumaraswamy” (November 5, 2007), the eighth paragraph was: “His objection was only to the BJP holding a public rally, the Chief Minister claimed.” It should have been “the former Karnataka Chief Minister”, the reference being to Mr. H.D. Kumaraswamy. The error was rectified in later editions.

In The Hindu Crossword 9059 (November 2, 2007), clue 23 Down was “Anagramatised 10 down (3)” “Anagramatised” is a mis-spelling. It should have been “Anagrammatised”.

A report “‘Lodge FIR against Pawar’” (November 3, 2007) said that the fifth India-Australia ODI match was held at Hyderabad. It should have been the third ODI.

The heading of an AFP report (“Sport”, November 3, 2007) was “Pollock recalled”. A reader said this was incorrect as only if Pollock was selected in the final 11, was he deemed to have been recalled, which he was not. Pollock was in the squad that toured Pakistan and had not been “recalled” as the heading suggested.
