BANGALORE: M.S. Arun blanked veteran B.V.S. Murthy 4-0 in the play-off for the second spot at the completion of the senior State-ranking snooker super league (second leg) at the KSBA hall here on Monday. The play off was warranted as both the players were tied for the second spot after two legs. Arun won 91-12, 72 (48)-26, 57-40, 70-27. Arun, along with Sajan Bopanna, will represent Karnataka in the snooker Nationals in Hyderabad next month. Earlier, Balaji Reddy downed Amit Bhushan 703-615 to win the second leg of the junior billiards. Canara enters finalCanara Pre-University College (Mangalore) entered the final of the Ultra Tech Cup cricket tournament defeating Govindadasa PU College (Suratkal) by five wickets in the first semifinal at the NIT-K ground near Mangalore on Sunday. The scores: Semifinal: Govindadasa 119 in 35 overs (Shivaraj 32, Prithviraj three for 12) lost to Canara 120 for five in 33.5 overs (Shamith 51).
