E. V. Velu, Minister for Food and Consumer Protection:
Only when someone has a problem with a product or service, does he or she think of consumer rights. There is a machinery in place and we have been making efforts to make people aware where they should approach if they have a complaint. People have to realise that they have a right to know about the product or service, and the right to choose a product/service of their liking. They can demand replacement/rectification if it is a product/service-related issue.
