CHENNAI: A new German centre is being established at Gurgaon to enable Small and Medium Enterprises to expand their network in India, Roland Herrmann, Consul-General of Germany in Chennai, said on Monday.
Addressing the members of the Hindustan Chamber of Commerce on “Business opportunities in Germany,” he said the German House was a self-contained centre with common infrastructure. It would be leased to SMEs who came to India to service their customers.
“Germany is home to several SMEs that have a workforce of 300-800 employees. These are all well-knitted companies and have been in existence for more than three-four generations. These firms enjoy leadership in their respective areas and have high competence in research. But, when it comes to servicing overseas clients, they don’t have enough support. We will do the handholding for them, protect them till they become big and move out of this place to have their own facility,” he said.
HCC president S. Vijaykumar Bafna spoke.
