Anticipatory bail for eight advocates

CHENNAI: A sessions court here granted anticipatory bail to eight advocates who apprehended arrest in connection with the violent incidents at the Saidapet Court complex last week.

Principal District and Sessions Judge V. Periyakaruppiah dismissed the anticipatory bail petition of another advocate, Ilangovan, who is wanted in connection with the alleged attack on Fifth Metropolitan Magistrate S. Muruganantham on October 31.

The Judge also granted bail to advocate Gerald, arrested in connection with the Saidapet incident.

The bail plea of advocate N. Thangadurai, arrested on the complaint of the Fifth Metropolitan Magistrate, was rejected by the Judge.
