Police to prepare data on BPO staff

Special Correspondent

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra police will prepare a database of all BPOs in the State with detailed particulars of their staff, especially drivers, according to Director-General of Police P.S. Pasricha.

This will bring an element of surprise in patrolling to prevent crimes, he said.

The step follows the rape and murder of a girl working in a BPO in Pune. Dr. Pasricha said the antecedents of the drivers, who ferried the BPO employees from home to office, need to be checked before they are employed.
