Winter session announced

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The start of the winter session of Parliament was announced formally on Monday by the Lok Sabha Secretariat. It will begin on November 15 and, subject to exigencies of government business, end on December 7.

The Indo-United States nuclear deal is expected to figure prominently.

It could be taken up after the United Progressive Alliance and the Left conclude their meetings on the subject. The next meeting is scheduled for November 16.

CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat has already hinted that the Left is not averse to more meetings, if necessary.

Rajya Sabha has been convened on November 15. The session is scheduled to end on December 7.
