One day in slow motion

Heavy rain, accompanied by deafening thunder clap, disrupted life in the city on Tuesday morning. Several low lying areas were inundated, particularly East Fort and Thampanoor. People had to wade through knee-deep water to access bus stands and railway terminal. Inter-city trains were delayed because of water submerged tracks in several areas. Visibility was low and vehicles moved at a snail’s pace. The rain abated by 11.30 a.m.
