Farmers lay siege to office

DAVANGERE: Farmers laid siege to the office of the Water Resources Department at Malebennur in Davangere district on Tuesday in protest against what they termed inferior quality work being executed in the modernisation of the canal system of the Bhadra reservoir, in Malebennur division.

Assistant Executive Engineer and officials of the department had to stay outside their office for some time till Executive Engineer Shivamurthappa along with the police pacified the farmers.
