Political parties asked not to submit voters’ applications

Sangareddy: Political parties were told in unequivocal terms here on Tuesday, not to submit applications in bunches on behalf of voters.
Joint Collector Ramshankar Naik who held a meeting with representatives of all political parties here on the preparation of draft voters list said that such facility is limited only to members belonging to one particularly family and not for political parties. However, they were asked to encourage the people to participate in the process of voter registration voluntarily.
According to the schedule announced by the Government, the draft list would be published by November 19 and corrections in the draft would be entertained up to December 3.
Special campaign will be undertaken from November 25 to December 2 and publication of final voters list will be out by January 10.
The Joint Collector said that the voters could also use photostat copies of different forms or typed applications are also accepted in case of shortage of forms.
All those who complete 18 years of age by January 1, 2008 should make their claim for registration as voter through Form No. 6.
The revenue divisional officers (RDOs) were also told to conduct divisional-level or constituency-level meetings before November 15 to educate the local public with the help of political parties.
