ANANTAPUR: Additional SP G. Vijaykumar inaugurated the AP Police Messaging system here on Tuesday. The facility would help the police provide improved service to the people, he said. Long processSpeaking after inaugurating the facility in the computer centre in the district police office here, he told the police personnel that there was a long process of passing on the information from one level to another in the department so far consuming time and energy. But, the new system would facilitate faster spread and reach of message saving the all important time. The system would also improve the accountability of police at different level, the Additional SP said. Computerisation of all police stations had made the system more useful, he said. Exchange of information about criminals would happen very fast now. The messages would be stored online so that all concerned could take note of it, he said. All other departments concerned like police training colleges, police battalions, CID, Greyhounds, Forensic Science Laboratory, Railway Police and the prosecution wing would also be linked to the messaging system so that necessary information could be taken from them online.
