Rajahmundry: A meeting on anti-ragging was held at Allu Ramalingaiah Homoeo College on Wednesday. Sivamuni, principal of the college, presided over the meeting. Girls are in large numbers among the 250 students who joined the college this year.
Speaking on the occasion, Inspector of Police A. Trinatha Rao said that even though students know about the consequences of ragging, they were following the tradition of their seniors.
There should be a limitation to tease others and students have to understand the sensitiveness of others and keep away from the practice, he said.
Laws were stringent against ragging and the police would not spare anyone indulged in ragging, he warned.
Mr. Trinatha Rao said that once a case was booked under Anti-Ragging Act, the future of the student would be spoiled.
Balakrishna, Sub-Inspector of Police, said that self-discipline was most important in student life and students should control their temperaments.
