ERODE: The Pollution Control Board officials along with Revenue officials sealed 32 textile and tanning units here on Tuesday.
Inspection
According to the officials, as per the orders of the Madras High Court, the Pollution Control Board officials inspected the tanning units and textile industries on Tuesday.
Revenue officials also accompanied them.
They noticed that 28 textile industries and four tanning units were functioning without Reverse Osmosis Plants and discharging untreated effluents into the drains. The officials sealed the units.
They said that already sufficient time was provided by the court and also the Government to tanners and dyers to erect the Reserve Osmosis plants.
Now they had taken action against the units that were found flouting the court orders.
