HUBLI: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) would launch “Ram Sethu Shila Yatra” from November 20 from 2,000 places simultaneously in protest against the move to destroy Ram Sethu. VHP International Secretary Praveen Togadia told presspersons here on Tuesday that during the month-long yatra, 6,200 villages throughout the country would be covered. During the yatra, the “floating rocks” from Rameshwaram would be carried along with the portraits of Lord Ram, Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga and Hanuman. As part of the yatra there would be “Rudrabhisheka” in all taluks, he said. Mr. Togadia said the yatra would be used to enrol Hindus for the “Dharma Yuddha” to be staged for the protection of Ram Sethu. He announced that the former MP of Dharwad North Vijay Sankeshwar would be the “Ram Sethu Rakshana Manch” State unit president constituted for the purpose. He said the Sethu Samudram Channel Project (SSCP) was not of the Tamil Nadu Government but of the Union Government. To a question that it was not the NDA Government, which had envisaged the project, he said it was the UPA Government which was going ahead with destroying the Ram Sethu.
