MYSORE: SHABD, the annual literary festival of Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE) held last week, witnessed varied talents. The two-day festival had a number of events, including debate, poetry writing and creative writing. The debate was unusual as it was conducted in Parliamentary style with one team posing as the political party in power and another as the Opposition. \Students had to let their creativity and imagination run wild in “Melting Thoughts” and “Chitta Bhitti”, the creative writing competitions, a press release said here. “Stall of colours”, a sketching and painting competition, was conducted as part of the extravaganza. Shabd had “Captured feelings”, a photography contest and “Reeled Motions”, a contest in video making. Students from several pre-university and degree colleges from Mysore and Bangalore took part in the event, which was organised by the editorial board of the SJCE College Magazine in celebration of creativity. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan chairman N. Ramanuja inaugurated the event. College principal B.G. Sangameshwara was present.
