Anti-sabotage checks at Airport

Coimbatore: The Quick Reaction Teams of the Coimbatore City Police on Tuesday conducted anti-sabotage and anti-hijack checks at the Coimbatore Airport.
These followed an alert sounded by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security to the agencies concerned. The teams of the City Police in charge of the peripheral and outer cover security conducted the checks outside the airport while the teams of the Central Industrial Security Force took care of the security inside the airport. T
he City Police Commissioner, C.K. Gandhirajan, has constituted five such teams for the City Police. The police said that sniffer dogs, door frame metal detectors, hand-held metal detectors, Explosive Vapour Detectors were used during the operation.
