Allahabad Bank plans more branches in Tamil Nadu

COIMBATORE: Allahabad Bank plans to add eight to 10 branches to the existing 31 in the State by the end of this financial year.
The Coimbatore branch was shifted to a new premises on Mecricar Road here on Monday. This is the seventh branch in the State with core banking solutions, said R.K. Jain its General Manager for Chennai Zone.
The bank had 2,164 branches across the country. It had 11 ATMs in the State. “We add more ATMs in places where we have good response,” he said.
The bank recently obtained permission to open 19 more branches in Tamil Nadu and eight to 10 would be opened before March 2008.
The bank opened a branch in Tirupur last year and the ones in Coimbatore and Tirupur would focus more on small and medium-scale enterprises.
