Inter-school tournaments

CHENNAI: The Boost-Santhome HSS State-level inter-school tournaments will be held at the school premises from November 12 to 14.

The tournament is co-sponsored by Yonex and Radio City.

Speaking to newspersons here on Monday, Bro. J. Jesuraj, Chairman, Tournament Committee, said around 200 schools are expected to participate in the tournament which will have events in volleyball, basketball and badminton (boys and girls).

One hundred and seventy six entries have been received for badminton, 90 teams (boys’), 23 (girls’) for volleyball, 35 (boys’) and 20 (girls’) for basketball.

Teams from Tiruchi and Coimbatore will also be participating.

“All the finals will be held at the Montford Indoor Stadium,” B. Srinivasa Rao, Tournament Co-ordinator, said.

There are plans to invite around 3,000 students to witness the finals. — Sports Reporter
