Rupesh pulls through

NEW DELHI: Rupesh Roy defeated Daniel Danilovic of Montenegro 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(6) in the first round of the $10,000 ITF men’s Futures tennis tournament at Lahore on Tuesday.

The results:

Singles (first round): Rupesh Roy bt Daniel Danilovic (Mne) 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(6); Vivek Shokeen bt Hyun-Soo Lim (Kor) 7-6(6), 6-3; Ashutosh Singh bt Nomi Qamar (Pak) 6-2, 6-3.

Doubles (quarterfinals): Vivek Shokeen and Ashutosh Singh bt Gleb Alekseenko and VAdim Alekseenko (Ukr) 6-2, 6-2; Huai-En Chang and Hsin-Han Lee (Tpe) bt Rupesh Roy and Divij Sharan 6-4, 7-5.
