Ambulance brakes fail, two injured

Bangalore: An ambulance van shifting an elderly woman who was terminally ill, from a private hospital, ran amok on Mysore Road on Tuesday afternoon after the brakes of the vehicle failed and rammed eight vehicles.
The result: two people have been seriously injured in the accident.
The vehicle, carrying Ubedi (90), rammed a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus, a tempo, three cars, a mini lorry and a motorcycle.
According to the Byatarayanapura traffic police, the motorcycle rider and the driver of the tempo have sustained serious injuries and have been shifted to different hospitals.
