BANGALORE: Five persons were killed in as many road accidents reported from the city since Monday evening. A pedestrian, Ankappa (50) of Domlur Layout, was killed on the spot after a car knocked him down on Airport Road, off ASMT Gate, around 6 a.m. on Tuesday. The Ulsoor traffic police have registered a case and seized the car. A private company employee, Paramesh (25) of Devasandra, died after a private school bus hit his motorcycle on 1st Cross, Kasturinagar, around 8.30 a.m. The K.R. Puram traffic police have registered a case. Another pedestrian, an unidentified man aged around 35, was killed on the spot after a BMTC bus ran over him near the Hebbal flyover around 10.30 p.m. on Monday. The R.T. Nagar traffic police, who have registered a case and seized the bus, said the driver ran away after the accident. Nanjunde Gowda (43), who owned a petty shop near his house in Yelahanka, was killed in a hit-and-run case reported on Bellary Road on Monday. The police said that around 6.45 p.m. a vehicle hit Gowda’s motorcycle near Anandnagar Cross and sped away. In another accident reported from Bellary Road on Monday, Tunga Nagaraj (57) was killed after a petrol tanker rammed a bicycle on which she was riding pillion with a construction worker.
