CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Wednesday that the Government had sanctioned posts of full-time secretaries for nine District Legal Services Authorities in the State to ensure their smooth functioning and facilitate people getting justice free of cost. Speaking at the inauguration of a Permanent Lok Adalat in the judicial complex at Rohtak, Mr. Hooda said the lok adalats symbolised the dream of Mahatma Gandhi to provide justice at an economical rate. He said 3,225 lok adalats had been organised in the State so far and 6.32 lakh cases disposed of. Describing the judiciary as a strong pillar of democracy, he said Haryana had a better infrastructure as compared to other states. Out of 20 districts, judicial complexes had been constructed in 17. More judicial complexes would be constructed now at sub-divisional level, he added. The Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Vijender Jain, and the Executive Chairman of the Haryana Legal Services Authority, Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel, were among those present at the ceremony.
