BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has instructed all district collectors to ensure proper supply of electricity to the farm sector for the rabi season. The Chief Minister has asked them to coordinate efforts to repair damaged electricity poles, supply lines and transformers on a priority basis keeping in view the farmers’ demand for electricity for the rabi crops. Mr. Chauhan was addressing the collectors through video-conferencing during his regular Samadhan Online programme at Mantralaya here on Tuesday. The Chief Minister told them that he had received complaints that transformers were not being replaced even after farmers had deposited the mandatory 10 per cent of the amount. He said it was the responsibility of the collectors to ensure that transformers were installed immediately in all such cases. The collectors have also been asked to go in for extensive registration of farm labourers.
