SALEM: The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) has appealed to the people not to burst noisy firecrackers between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. In a press release, the board asked the people to refrain from bursting crackers, which produce noise of high decibels and cause pollution during Deepavali. It instructed shopkeepers not to sell firecrackers that generated noise above 125 dB (A1) (decibel) and put up boards to inform the people about chemicals used for manufacturing the fire crackers and the levels of noise generated by them.The board asked the people to ensur a safe Deepavali with low air and noise pollution.
