New judges take oath

CUTTACK: Justice Biswanath Mohapatra, Justice Bhabani Prasad Ray and Justice Subhash Chandra Parija were sworn in additional judges of Orissa High Court on Wednesday. Chief Justice Ashok Kumar Ganguly administered the oath of office to the newly-appointed judges.

All judges of the High Court, senior advocates and State advocate-general, members of the Bar, chief secretary Ajit Kumar Tripathy and several other judicial officers were present at the swearing-in ceremony.

Special secretary of home department Bijay Chandra Jena read the presidential warrant of appointments of the new judges that arrived here earlier this month.

After taking oath, Justice Mohapatra presided over the chief court along with Chief Justice Ganguly while Justice Ray and Justice Parija shared the Benches with Justice I.M. Quddusi and Justice Laxmikanta Mohapatra respectively.
