Trains and buses crowded on the eve of Deepavali

ERODE: After standing in queue for more than two hours, I got a ticket to Madurai for my family and me in the Coimbatore-Nagarcoil fast passenger,", said a relieved passenger on Wednesday. Many people employed in Erode and whose home towns are in Trichirapally, Madurai and Tirunelveli are anxious to go home for Deepavali.

The passenger trains are so crowded that passengers finding it difficult to even enter into a train.

Some people were seen entering through the emergency exit.

The trains are carrying atleast three times its actual capacity.

The Railway Police tried to somehow regulate the crowd, but still the crowd for buying ticket and boarding trains are simply too high. Similarly in Erode Municipal Central Bus stand, heavy crowd of passengers are waiting and boarding into the buses.

Long-distance

For buses going long distance , reservations were already made and token are provided to the passengers.

People standing in long queue for more than three hours, reserved their seats to Chennai, Pondicherry, Coimbatore, Pollachi, Tanjavour, Nagapattinam, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari in the long distance buses. There was heavy crowds in town and mini buses.
