ERODE: “The public should avoid the use of plastic papers and plastic bags, as it is affecting the environment," said the Headmaster, CSI Boys HSS, Erode A. Chandran. He was inaugurating the NCC cadets rally on Anti-Plastic held recently. It was organised recently by the 15 Tamilnadu Battalion NCC. ParticipantsOver 500 NCC cadets of the CSI Boys HSS, Sengunthar HSS and Railway colony municipal HSS participated. Route The rally started from the CSI HSS, went round the residential areas of SKC Road, Surampatty and Surampattynal road. The organisers distributed pamphlets on anti-plastic . The NCC Officer Lt Col K. Ravindran led the rally. SewageHe said that in many places people , after using plastic papers and bags, throw them in drains, which blocks the flow of sewage, which spills onto the road. Health hazardIn most hotels and eateries the food is packed in plastic papers which causes health problem. WarningHe adviced the public to avoid the use of plastic. The Sub Major Hansa Kunju and others participated.
