‘Do not issue licences ’

Correspondent

Sirsi: In view of the growing number of autorickshaws in the town, the Auto Drivers’ Association has urged the Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Assistant Commissioner and Deputy Superintendent of Police of Sirsi not to issue fresh licences for the next five years.

In a memorandum to the officials, the association said that there were 800 autorickshaws in the town and this was leading to many problems. It also urged the authorities concerned to revise autorickshaw fare.
