Jail warders promoted in Puducherry

PUDUCHERRY: A total of five male jail warders in the Union Territory have been promoted as principal warders.

According to a press release issued by the Jail Department, the decision to promote them was taken at a departmental promotion committee meeting held here on Tuesday.

The meeting was chaired by the Inspector-General of Prisons. The Joint Secretary (Home) and the Chief Superintendent of Jails participated as members of the committee.

Among the jail warders who had been promoted as principal warders were G.Krishnasamy and P.Ramamoorthy of the Central Prison in Puducherry.

V.Mannathalingam, A.Rajendran and K.Ramalingam were working at the Special sub-jail in Karaikal, the press release said.
