Scribe paid Rs. 3 lakh compensation

HYDERABAD: Transport Minister K. Lakshminarayana on Wednesday handed over a cheque for Rs. 3 lakhs as compensation from the APSRTC to Buddavarapu Venkataratnam, a scholar in Telugu literature, who lost his right leg in an accident involving an RTC bus in Hyderabad. Learning about the accident, Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy extended financial assistance to him. Mr Venkataratnam thanked the Transport Minister for his initiative.
