Thiruvananthapuram: Special bus services, normal fares. These are the highlights of the elaborate arrangements being made by the KSRTC for the benefit of pilgrims during the coming Mandalam festival of the Sabarimala temple. The special bus services would be operated from all major centres to Pampa and Erumeli. They would include services from places such as Chengannur, Kottayam, and Ernakulam for the benefit of pilgrims coming by train. The pilgrims would be allowed to reserve tickets ten days in advance from all major centres to Pampa and back. Group reservation facility would also be available. Pick up facility would be provided from any place within 10 km of the bus station for groups of over 40 pilgrims. A bus station with garage facility would function at Pampa during the entire festival period. In addition to it, a temporary bus station would function at Nilackal during the festival. Chain servicesChain services would be operated between Nilackal and Pampa. Workshop facilities would be arranged at Chalakkayam, Pampa, Nilackal, Plapally and Perunad. CMD of the KSRTC T.P. Sen Kumar said the corporation was making elaborate and meticulous arrangements for the benefit of the pilgrims. He asked the pilgrims to cooperate with the arrangements.
