This Day That Age
Mr. M. Bhaktavatsalam, Home Minister, said in the Legislative Assembly on November 7 in Madras that it was his view that the State Government should advise the Centre to ban manufacture of dangerous crackers like ‘atom bombs’. He was answering a barrage of questions on the recent ban on the transport of fireworks by rail. He said the ban on the transport of crackers other than those of a dangerous variety had since been lifted by the Railway Board. He was of the view that all dangerous fireworks should be prohibited and Deepavali could be celebrated without crackers.
