Appalling

This refers to the rape of a tourist in Orissa allegedly by four men after being abducted from a bus. It is unfortunate that no one came to her rescue. What has happened to the civilised world? Could not the passengers together take on the goons? The driver, conductor and all passengers are responsible for abetting the crime. Crime is growing not because of a few bad elements but because of the indifference of the majority. If we do not wake up now and help our neighbour, it will not be long before the fire burns our house down.

Naresh Jain,
