Income tax returns

This refers to the report that Union Ministers have been asked to file their annual income tax returns by the Cabinet Secretary. What is shocking is that in spite of the Prime Minister asking the Ministers to file their returns, several of them have not done so.

They should perhaps be told about the 100-year-old F.D. Engineer of Andhra Pradesh who filed his income tax return on July 31. When a centenarian can file his returns without any reminder, why do our Ministers need one?

N. Nagarajan,

Secunderabad
