HUBLI: A State-level Twenty20 cricket Tournament for the engineering colleges will be held in Hubli from Nov. 12 to 17. The Principal, BVB College of Engineering and Technology, Dr Ashok Shettar, said here on Wednesday that the college would play host to the tournament. Teams from the engineering colleges of Belgaum, Bangalore, Mysore, Gulbarga, Mangalore would be taking part. State level sports meetThe State-level rural sports meet for Group-2 will be held in Belgaum from Nov. 13 to 15. All the events will be held at the District Stadium in Nehru Nagar. Talent awardsThe Department of Women and Child Welfare has invited applications from eligible candidates for the annual Talent awards for the year 2007-08.Collect application forms from the department offices in their respective district headquarters and submit it by Nov.12. Powerlifting eventBalanjaneya Gymnasium will host the South India-level senior, junior and sub-junior powerlifting championships at the Town Hall in Mangalore from December 4. More than 300 lifters from five southern States are expected to participate in the four-day event.
