Timothy-Chandu final

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rynold Timothy will meet G. Chandu in the men’s singles final of the 64th Trivandrum Open tennis championship at the TTC courts here on Wednesday. In the semifinals, Rynold Timothy easily defeated Binoj Mani 6-4, 6-2 while Chandu came back from behind to beat an experienced Binu Mani 0-6, 6-1, 6-2.

The results: Men’s singles (semifinal): Rynold Timothy bt Binoj Mani 6-4, 6-2; G. Chandu bt Binu Mani 0-6, 6-1, 6-2. Doubles (semifinals): Rynold Timothy & K. Vijaykumar bt Sarathlal & Biju Mani 6-3, 4-6, 6-2; Binu Mani & Binoj Mani bt A. Anand & S.L. Arun 6-3, 6-0.

Boys (under-18): Final: Shyam Babu bt S.Ramnath 7-6, 3-6, 6-1. Under-16 (final): Anand George bt Pritish Kishorekumar 6-4, 6-2. Under-14 (final): Mohammed Hamraz bt Sachin Vinoth 6-0, 4-1 (conceded). Under-12: Doubles (final): Revanth Kishore & Mathew T. Lathra bt Arjuna Ajaykumar & Varun Nair 9-7.
