Reliance to sponsor junior National athletics meet

VIJAYAWADA: Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) will be the title sponsor of the junior National athletics championship to be held here from November 24 to 27, the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Lagadapati Rajagopal, said here on Wednesday. He said that the meet would be conducted with an estimated expenditure of Rs. 60 lakh. Over 2,500 athletes are expected to take part in the tournament which will be conducted in the age groups of under-14, 16, 18 and 20 for both boys and girls.

KDCA Reds posts win

KDCA Reds defeated KDCA Blues by 14 runs in the KDCA under-13 selection cricket match at the IGMC Stadium here on Wednesday.

The scores:

KDCA Reds 112 in 46.1 overs (M. Chetansri four for 11) bt KDCA Blues 98 in 54 overs (R. Nagendra three for five).

U-13 probables

Twenty-four probables were named for the final selection match to select the KDCA u-13 team for the Sarvani Laboratories Cup at IGMC Stadium here on November 13.

KDCA Whites: A. Rajesh, Lal Krishna, E. Koutilya, Kunal Prabhu, R. Bharath, Y. Sandeep, N. Jagdish Babu, Ch. Vamsi Krishna, V. Aniruth, B. Manoj Reddy, M. Chetansri, R. Goutham.

KDCA Yellows: U. Gowtham Varma, N.V. Choudary, M.C. Harsha, S. Abhinav, Sk. Imran, L. Kevin, K. Bhima Rao, K. Saidilip, P. Satyanarayana Reddy, A. Manoj Kumar, M. Naga Aakarsh, G. Rakesh.

Pat for Rao

The management of the P.B. Siddhartha Arts and Sciences College on Wednesday congratulated Y. Venkateswara Rao for bagging the Mr. Acharya Nagarjuna University title and the over-all championship in the bodybuilding competitions conducted at PNC & KR College (Narasaraopet) on November 3.

The College Principal, N. Satyanarayana, presented a memento to Rao for his feat.
