KOCHI: G.P. Unnikrishnan’s fine century (106 off 98 balls, 9x4, 5x6) helped Muthoot-ECC thrash AG’s Office SRC (Thrissur) by 105 runs and enter the first phase semifinals of the 57th Cordiant-Pooja all-India cricket tournament at the Tripunithura Palace Oval on Wednesday. After rain spoiled BPCL’s match against Octopals (Thrissur), a coin was tossed to decide the winner and the Kochi side called right. The scores: Muthoot-ECC, Ernakulam 239 for eight in 45 overs (G.P. Unnikrishnan 106, P.S. Manoj 57, Vysakh three for 49) bt AG’s Office SRC, Thrissur 134 in 35 overs (M.Suresh Kumar three for 37). Tuesday’s match (quarterfinals): BPCL Kochi Refinery, Ernakulam 178 for nine in 33 overs (K.X.Manoj 73) vs Octopals, Thrissur. Match stopped by rain. — Principal Correspondent
