In hospital with serious injuries after Pandav Nagar accident

NEW DELHI: A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured as he got crushed between a Blueline and a DTC bus at Pandav Nagar here on Wednesday.

While the driver of the private bus vanished from the spot leaving the vehicle behind, angry residents smashed its windscreen and windows.

According to the police, the accident took place around 5 p.m. at a bus stop near Mother Dairy when the Blueline bus plying on route 479 -- between Anand Vihar and Ambedkar Nagar -- overtook a stationary Mudrika DTC bus. Mohit, who was hanging on the footboard of the Blueline bus, was caught between the two vehicles. He sustained serious injuries in the legs and was rushed to nearby R.K. Hospital from where he was referred to GTB Hospital.

Mohit, son of Bishan Singh and a resident of Kalyanpuri, is a Class VI student of a government school at Kondli. The police have registered a case and launched a hunt for the Blueline driver.
