Teenager found dead in Cubbon Park Crime notes

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Seventeen-year-old diploma student Sushma committed suicide by hanging herself with her duppata from a tree in Cubbon Park on Tuesday night. Joggers on Wednesday morning noticed the body and informed the police.

Sushma had left a note stating one of her friends, also a teenaged girl, was forcing her to marry a man named Kiran. She had reportedly threatened Sushma that Kiran would throw acid on her if she rejected his proposal, the police said quoting the death note.

Sushma was a student of first-year diploma in commercial practice at the S.J. Polytechnic on Seshadri Road. She was the daughter of Sreenivasa of Kadugodi.

The Cubbon Park police have registered a case.

Another suicide case was reported from the Cubbon Park police station limits on Tuesday midnight.

Shashidhar (21), a first year LLB student who attempted to kill himself by consuming a chemical at his house in Kengeri, died at a private hospital here.

But the Cubbon Park police, who registered a case, said they were yet to ascertain the reason for Shashidar’s suicide. He was a native of Magadi in Ramanagara district and a student of a private law college here.

Trampled

A 50-year-old man was trampled by an elephant near the Bannerghatta National Park on Tuesday night.

The police said that around 10.30 p.m., the elephant trampled Thimmaiah, a resident of Hakki Pikki Colony, when he was answering nature’s call at a farm near his house.

Woman murdered

Sudha (27), a house keeping staff at an information technology company, was found murdered at her house in Gollahalli, off Electronics City, on Tuesday night.

The police suspect that a security guard with whom she reportedly had an affair could have strangled her with a towel. The murder is said to have taken place between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The Hebbugodi police, who have registered a case of murder, have detained the guard.

Sudha from Arasikere in Hassan district had divorced her husband a few years ago and was living alone at Gollahalli, the police said.
