HYDERABAD: The Uppal police on Wednesday registered a case of alleged misappropriation of funds against BCCI president and Union Minister Sharad Pawar and HCA president and State Minister G. Vinod following court directions.
The court instructed the police, after hearing a petition filed by former member of Rajya Sabha P. Radhakrishna in connection with the India-Australia ODI held recently, to file a FIR. Names of six others, including BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah and HCA secretary Shivlal Yadav, were also included. The petitioner alleged that the stadium had a seating capacity of 39,000 but only 15,000 tickets were sold to the public. He charged the organisers with distributing remaining tickets as complimentary passes and making huge money.
