HYDERABAD: The Congress MLA from Vijayawada East Vangaveeti Radhakrishna announced his decision to resign saying he was “pained” by the Government’s decision to regularise land belonging to Kankipadu legislator Devineni Rajasekhar at the Banjara Hills here.
In his letter to Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Wednesday, Mr. Radhakrishna said while the Government did not concede his repeated requests for distribution of house sites to the eligible poor, land valued at Rs.120 crore in the name of the legislator was regularised in violation of rules.
Mr. Ranga was apparently referring to a report published in a Telugu daily, alleging that the Chief Minister used extraordinary powers to hastily regularise a large extent of prime land.
